Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga, and more provide Provenance for a charity auction.
Julien’s Auctions has recently announced MusiCares Charity Relief Auction which took place this past Sunday. The Proceeds from the Auction will benefit MusiCares, the leading music industry charity, to provide aid to music people devastated by COVID-19. MusiCares provides a support system of health and human services across a spectrum of needs including physical and mental health, addiction recovery, unforeseen personal emergencies, and disaster relief.
A lot of Musicians like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Marshmello, BTS, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift came forward to provide some provenance for the auction.
BTS began off the endeavor with their earlier announcement of their generous offering of pastel-colored costumes (estimate: $20,000-$40,000), which would be worn in their 2020 music video for “Dynamite,” the worldwide superstars’ blockbuster hit and first number one song in the United States. BTS was nominated for their first GRAMMY for the song in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, with Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Bon Iver, and Justin Bieber and Quavo, among others.
Snoop Dogg’s donated his signed self-portrait dog wearing a “Doggy Style 25” gold chain canvas painting, which was created in commemoration of his 25th Anniversary Doggy Style in 2019. The item which was estimated at $1,500-$3,000, went for a huge $96,000 in the final bid.
Eminem also gave his signed Red Kangol Cap which was estimated at $600-$800, went for $6,400. Check out the full item list on their website here.
