Tee Grizzley talks about dissing Eminem.
Tee Grizzley recently did an interview with Sway Calloway on Sway in the Morning where he talked about Police Reform, Therapy, his New Mixtape ‘The Smartest’, and much more. At around the 16:00 mark, Sway asked Tee Grizzley about talking something about Eminem in a song.
Why did Tee Grizzley stop making music?
According to recent reports, the “First Day Out” hitmaker made headlines for his comments about potentially discontinuing his music career in favour of gaming and acting. Grizzley stated that he has been able to make a significant income from gaming online without having to leave his home, and mentioned that he no longer needs to rely on club appearances to earn money. The Detroit rapper also showed a desire to reevaluate himself as a professional gamer and part-time movie director.
“I had said something in a song about Eminem you know,” said Tee. “It wasn’t the most respectful thing but I never thought Em was gonna hear it. I ain’t never had no problem with Eminem and I ain’t got nothing against him you know. It’s all love and respect, he kicked the door down for the city.“.
During a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Royce da 5’9″ talked about Grizzley taking shots at Marshall. “Marshall approached me about see Grizzley and he was like ‘yo do you I should jump on a record with him, you think I should put him on a record’.” said Royce, “I said yes but I think you should wait just a little bit until he gets maybe one more of those records just so they don’t give you the credit for him taking off. I want him to have all his credit and he was like alright. So we were just sitting back watching him and then he came out with the Eminem diss, and then Marshall called me like what the f–k, he was like he just burned the bridge and he ain’t even know yet. I hate to see people, the youngest make those kinds of decisions.”
After that, Tee Grizzley talked to TMZ and said that his beef with the Bad Meets Evil duo is just a big misunderstanding. “So, shout out to Eminem, shout out to Royce. … I talked to them, I talked to Royce the other day. It was really just a big misunderstanding.”
Tee joked that he absolutely wants to be a part of “8 Mile 2,” before adding that other collaborations are on the way. “Royce got a project on the way, I got a project on the way, and Em like the big dog in the city.”
Grizzley hasn’t gotten a chance to speak with Eminem personally yet, but even if they don’t get to collaborate on a tune, “it’s all love.” When he addressed the matter on Instagram, he stated that he intended to “squash this crap,” which is what presumably led Royce to contact him. Tee Grizzley tweeted, “I f–k wit y’all man it’s all love.“
