Killer Mike is putting together his next studio album.
After a four Run The Jewels album run from 2013 to 2020 with producer El-P, Killer Mike is preparing his next solo effort. The new album will be his sixth studio effort, and a follow-up to 2012’s “RAP Music”.
The Brooklyn rapper recently performed at SXSW Conference & Festivals, where he debuted a couple of new tracks “Shed Tears” and “High + Holy” which was a tribute to his wife. “My life truly is a testimony for what happens when you show up and keep believing something is calling you to do better for yourself,” he said during the performance. “I don’t know what’s after this life, but I will treasure this night for the rest of my life.”
During the SXSW, the rapper linked up with DJ Kenny Perez, to whom he revealed that his next project is titled “Michael”. It is also revealed that the album will feature Andre 3000, Lil Wayne, Dave Chapelle and more.
Although specific details are currently limited, Killer Mike unveiled two possible tracks from Michael last year. These include “RUN,” featuring Dave Chappelle and currently incarcerated rapper Young Thug, as well as “TALK’N THAT S**T!,” produced by DJ Paul.
Michael marks Killer Mike’s first solo album in over ten years since the release of R.A.P. Music in 2012. The album featured guest appearances from Big Boi, T.I., the late Trouble, and other artists.
