Childish Gambino drops new song/video ‘This Is America’.
Childish Gambino returns with some new music as he releases a brand new single called ‘This Is America‘. He also drops the official visual along with it which is directed by Hiro Murai. Childish Gambino also hosted and performed on SNL earlier tonight.
This Is America” tackles a number of issues at once (including gun violence, hypocrisy, and police brutality) while also bringing light on what it’s like to be a black person in America today. The film, which takes place entirely in a warehouse, concludes with Gambino racing through the dark corridors, seemingly pursued by bodies in the background. The music, which had been reasonably upbeat throughout the song, fades away, leaving an ominous silence in its wake.
