Saweetie drops the ‘My Type’ video.
Saweetie returns to the music scene as she drops the official video for her song called ‘My Type‘. She also released a special ‘Claws’ version of ‘My Type‘ song & video last month.
To add some flare to the video, the “ICY GRL” rapper connects with a few of her Bay Area buddies, Kamaiyah and Kehlani. Saweetie takes to the dance floor, then continues to twerk while standing on a basketball hoop. She ends up the video rhyming in the midst of the smoke from cars drifting around her after her fourth costume change.
The song served as the inspiration for a social media challenge and was Saweetie’s first appearance on the US Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at number 21 after debuting at number 81. Featuring a sample of Petey Pablo’s “Freek-a-Leek,” produced by Lil Jon, the song was penned by Saweetie and produced by London on da Track.
Saweetie recently opened up about how her 26th birthday was on the verge of being ruined until her boyfriend Quavo stepped in at the last minute to salvage the day. She had bought a wig for the occasion, but it arrived in an entirely different style than she had anticipated. Quavo surprised her with a party that brought a smile to her face again.
