MGK Honors Eminem by his Cover of Lose Yourself

MGK performs Lose Yourself at St. Andrews Hall.

The Bad Boys Records Rapper MGK (Machine Gun Kelly) Honors pays homage to Eminem and does a cover of his classic last verse to “Lose Yourself” in Detroit on the steps of St. Andrews Hall, right above the legendary “Shelter” where 8 Mile was filmed. MGK is surrounded by a bunch of fans that rhyme along with the MC. Machine Gun Kelly Closed the performance in front of a bunch of fans with the B. Rabbit’s final battle verse of Eminem’s Movie 8 mile.

These performances are “only fitting,” as MGK remarks at the start of the video. Eminem earned his career at St. Andrew’s Hall, albeit he mostly played in the lower level known as The Shelter, and the location is featured prominently in the film.

Lace-Up, Machine Gun Kelly’s label debut, is out today everywhere music is sold. I’m not sure if 8 Mile is available on Netflix or not, but if you haven’t watched it (or it’s been a while), you should. It a solid film with a terrific soundtrack, though a little rough around the edges.

Check out the video clip below which is Directed by Spordy 19XX for EST 19XX Films.
