Kendrick Lamar Freestyles In Big Boy's Neighborhood on power 106 LA.

Kendrick Lamar Freestyle Rap In “Big Boy’s Neighborhood”.

On his visit to power 106 yesterday in Los Angeles to premiere his new single “I” from his upcoming follow-up LP of his previous platinum G.K.M.C Album and talk about the concept behind it Kendrick Lamar also laid a freestyle with K.Dot who also freestyle on some beats in Power 106 LA.

He yelled out his TDE labelmates and his city, and even allowed Big Boy some time to shine, over Beanie Sigel’s “Roc the Mic” and The LOX’s “Ryde or Die, Chick” instrumentals.

Kendrick Lamar also talks about working with Dr.Dre, One year anniversary, and the impact of ‘Control’, his Relationship with J.cole and Drake, and more.

During his Power 106 interview, Kendrick mentioned that his parents are fans of the song and that he’s presently working on seven songs for his future album. To make the sophomore album, he claims they must be absolute tens. “I record a handful of ideas and just sit and live with them till I feel like they’ve got a chance to be a ten,” Kendrick explained. “Those are the keepers,” says the narrator.

Kendrick’s freestyle demonstrates why he is the best MC around. Kendrick starts the song with a beat based on James Brown’s “The Boss,” and he raps quickly, telling an elaborate story about the streets. The following few freestyles he does aren’t quite as impressive, but they’re entertaining, and he’s clearly representing TDE. When Biggie’s “Gimme The Loot” starts playing, Kendrick insists on rapping over a 5th beat. Then Big Boy steals the show with a hilarious rhyme that has everyone in the studio, particularly Kendrick, in fits of laughter.

From Lamar’s third studio album, To Pimp a Butterfly, I features Ronald Isley of The Isley Brothers. The song combines music from “That Lady,” composed and originally composed by R&B group The Isley Brothers, with portions re-recorded rather than completely borrowed from the original album. At the 2015 Grammy Awards, I won two awards: Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
