“They tried to kill Tupac. They tried to kill me” said Gibbs on being shot.

The Gary, Indiana Rapper, Freddie Gibbs Performed at Rough Trade in Williamsburg, Brooklyn last night. The Performance went successful but after the Show, When Freddie was in a Black GMC Denali at North 9th Street near wythe Avenue, two gunmen shows up out of nowhere and started firing Gun Shots on Freddie Gibbs. They reportedly shot 10 times but the rapper didn’t hit and managed to escape, But 2 members of his team got hit, One was his DJ who suffered a leg injury and another member had a hand injury.

Later after the incident, Freddie talks about the incident and said “They tried to kill Tupac. They tried to kill me, I’m Freddie Gibbs. They tried to kill me, but I’m still alive.” The rapper also took to his Instagram to let his fans know that he’s ok.

Gibbs, a rising rap sensation, has developed an amazing career in recent years on the strength of his brutal, raw street lyrics. The rapper and legendary producer Madlib released their collaboration record Piata earlier this year to widespread praise.
