UK’s Ed Sheeran is now becomes the Most streamed Music Artist worldwide on Music Streaming site Spotify. Ed Sheeran has past million sales barrier in UK this week for his second album “X”. According to Spotify, Ed Sheeran is streamed 860 million times on spotify this year, and his new album “X” is streamed 430 million times wordwide this year. Ed Sheeran said “It’s a great thing to be above so many amazing artists who I’d assume would be streamed more than me.”
Detroit Rapper Eminem is the second most streamed artist globally followed by Coldplay on number 3. Calvin harris and Katy Perry is 3rd and 4th respectively.
In the US Top streamed list, Eminem tops the list followed by Rapper Drake and Kanye West on Number 2nd and 3rd. Eminem is also in list of UK, where he ranked 3rd with Ed Sheeran and Arctic Monkeys tops the list with 1st and second.
In the female music artist list of most streamed in Spotify, Katy Perry tops the list followed by Ariana Grande and Landa Del Ray who ranked 2nd and third. Beyonce and Lorde are also in the list with fourth and fifth spot. Rihanna who has been the top female artist worldwide for previous two years is not even in the top five this year.
In the worldwide most streamed records, Pharrell Williams tops the list with his hit track Happy. The list also have Clean Bandit’s Rather Be which features Jesse Glynne and Calvin Harris’s Summer on second and third.
