A New XXXtentacion album & Documentary announced.

On the first death anniversary of XXXtentacion who was shot last on June 18, his team decided to announce a new album and a documentary to dedicate to the late rapper.

XXXTentacion’s No. 1 single “Sad” has had one billion Spotify listens since his death, and his posthumously released album “Skins” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s album rankings. Skins featured guest appearances from Travis Barker of Blink-182 and Kanye West.  In 2023, the late rapper’s second studio album “?” becomes first rap project to surpass 10 billion streams on Spotify. The project is currently 5x platinum by RIAA.

The documentary trailer which was released today is narrated by X himself where he spends time with friends, family, and fans. The 42-second film trailer has glimpses of XXXTentacion at home, with fans, exiting jail, on stage, and concludes with his voice-over, “This is the story, this is the full story, this is the last time I’m-a tell it.

The documentary will premiere during the SXSW Film Festival, which runs from March 11 through March 20 in Austin, Texas. Other films planned to debut at the festival include Sheryl, starring Sheryl Crow, Anonymous Club, starring Courtney Barnett, Cypher, starring Tierra Whack, and more. XXXTentacion was shot and killed in 2018 at the age of 20. Prior to his death, he was the subject of domestic violence claims made by an ex-girlfriend, which he subsequently acknowledged to in a secret audio seized by the Miami-Dade County state attorney’s office.

In connection with rapper’s death in 2018, three people Michael Boatwright, 28, Dedrick Williams, 26, and Trayvon Newsome, 24, were found guilty of first-degree murder. Broward County judge Michael Usan told them: “You’ll spend every hour and every day and every week and every year of your life in that cell. “And one day, they’ll come and open up that cell in the morning and you will have passed on, and only on that day you would’ve served your sentence.”
