New Music ASAP Rocky & Joey Badass - Too Many Gods (Game of Thrones)

ASAP Rocky & Joey Badass drops ‘Too Many Gods’.

After the lead single ‘Power is Power‘ by Travis Scott, The Weeknd, and SZA, here comes another new song off the Game of Thrones Season 8 Soundtrack. ASAP Rocky and Joey Badass joined forces for the track called ‘Too Many Gods‘.

Before delivering up his own GoT-inspired verses, Bada$$ follows Rocky with his own take of the chorus. The Pro Era leader describes his upbringing among hittas like Ned Stark in his poetry. He also comes out as someone who will not submit to House Targaryen.

In the song “Too Many Gods,” which was created by Ricky Reed and Nate Mercereau, Rocky and Joey rap about the oversupply of deities in the world. By singing the solemn chorus, the A$AP Mob boss takes control and then commands us into battle like the heir apparent to the Iron Throne. “It’s just too many laws, Misfits, too many wars/Battle scars, too many swords,” Rocky raps. “Knight in shining armor, such a pretty horse/Strange screams down the corridors, Divide, conquer, call it yours/Another false prophet’s on the thrones.”

“Sword so sharp, take his head apart/Ready for war, I grew up with soldiers like Ned Stark,” Bada$$ raps. “Dragging my name in the dirt and I’ll bury ’em, playing with fire but I’m no Targaryen/Dire wolves with me, these ain’t no Siberians/What’s a king to a God? Ain’t no comparing them.”

Recently, however, there has been a lot more creativity and passion poured into the development of some excellent OSTs, with Black Panther leading the pack. GoT delivered a strong lineup of musicians, including Joey Bada$$ and A$AP Rocky. Both rappers end up addressing the HBO show in their rhymes, delivering unexpected nuggets, and making everyone pay attention to what they’re saying.
