Nas drops his new album “The Lost Tapes 2” feat Kanye West, Pharrell & others

After announcing it recently, Nas has released his brand new project called ‘The Lost Tapes 2‘ which is a sequel to his original Lost Tapes project released in 2002.

The project which is led by his recent song ‘Jarreau of Rap‘, contains 16 tracks with guest appearances from Swizz Beatz, J. Myers, David Ranier, and more. The production is handled by Pharrell, Statik Selektah, Hit-Boy, Kanye West, The Alchemist, and more.

Nas vowed that if The Lost Tapes 2 is a success, he will release more of them in the future. The renowned wordsmith disclosed to partygoers at a listening party for LT2 that he had plenty of tunes hidden in his vault. “I put out the first Lost Tapes 17 years ago,” said Nas. “Since then, you can imagine I piled up a lot of songs since then. So I got enough for Lost Tapes 2 now, and Lost Tapes 3 and Lost Tapes 4.

Esco fans have been anticipating this album for almost 15 years. The Lost Tapes was released in September 2002 and featured music from his previous albums that were left on the editing room floor. Despite its lack of commercial appeal, the album garnered positive reviews and debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200.

Nas’s latest album has made a strong debut on the Billboard 200 chart, reaching number one with 23,000 album-equivalent units sold. Of these units, 12,000 were pure album sales. This marks Nas’s 13th top 10 album in the United States, solidifying his position as one of the most successful and respected artists in the industry.

With new content, the Queens rapper vowed to deliver part dos in 2003, but the release date was pushed again. The project was halted indefinitely due to label squabbles.

The next one won’t be 17 years, each one sounds different,” he said. “This one [Lost Tapes 2] is definitely different.

Nas’ latest album, includes previously unreleased tracks from his last four studio albums: Hip Hop Is Dead (2006), Untitled (2008), Life Is Good (2012), and Nasir (2013). (2018).
