Kendrick Lamar drops new album “DAMN” feat U2, Rihanna, U2 & others

After hinting at a new project on his track ‘The Heart Part 4‘, Later Kendrick Lamar released the record ‘HUMBLE.‘ and revealed that he’s dropping a new album in April. Earlier this month he revealed the releasing date and then unveil the official tracklist and cover art for the project this week. Today Kendrick Lamar returns as he drops his new album ‘DAMN.‘. The project contains 14 tracks with features from Rihanna, U2, and Zacari.

The letters in the Damn tracklist that appear against a white wall on the album’s back cover may be combined to form an anagram for “Earth led 2 death.” Others have hypothesized that it’s an anagram for “Death 2 the Leader,” but there aren’t enough E’s to make it work. On the Damn album cover, the “M” drapes over Kendrick’s head in a way that resembles devil horns if you squint. If you picture comparable artwork for a Nation album, the “O” may resemble a halo.

In a recent interview with the Latest York Times’ T Magazine, Lamar stated that his new album, To Pimp a Butterfly, which follows 2015’s To Pimp a Butterfly and last year’s collection LP untitled unmastered, covers “extremely pressing” issues. “I think now, how wayward things have gone within the past few months, my focus is ultimately going back to my community and the other communities around the world where they’re doing the groundwork,” he said. “To Pimp a Butterfly was addressing the problem. I’m in a space now where I’m not addressing the problem anymore.” “We’re in a time where we exclude one major component out of this whole thing called life: God,” he added. “Nobody speaks on it because it’s almost in conflict with what’s going on in the world when you talk about politics and government and the system.”

Fans should anticipate a similarly heavy-hitting release from Lamar on Friday, given the hefty subject matter of his last two full-length albums, from the brilliantly built narrative arc of his 2012’s good kid, m.A.A.d city to Butterfly’s scorching political messaging.
